Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport’s hours of operation are from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily. Check-in opens at 5:30 AM.

Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) security screening hours of operation are from 6:00 AM until the last flight of the day has departed. No airline or security staff will be onsite to assist you in your travel outside these hours.

Required Documents

All passengers flying in and out of Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport are required to hold valid documents in order to board their flight and/or clear security.

Travel within Canada

Before boarding, all passengers planning to travel on domestic flights within Canada are to be asked to present:

  • One piece of valid government-issued identification that includes a photograph and the passenger’s name, date of birth and gender; OR
  • Two pieces of valid government-issued ID without photographs showing the passenger’s name, date of birth and gender.

Travel to Canada

All passengers entering Canada from the U.S. will be required to be in possession of a valid passport.

American citizens are required to be in possession of their American passport while U.S. Permanent Residents require a valid Green Card and a valid passport for entry to Canada.

Citizens of all other countries require a valid passport and should find out, before travelling, whether they require a temporary resident visa. In addition, travellers to Canada should consider whether they require a work permit, study permit or other immigration documentation in addition to the required identification documents.

Travel to the United States

AS of March 10, 2026, Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport offers a convenient U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Preclearance facility. This allows travellers to clear all U.S. immigration, customs and agriculture checks before flying and enjoy a seamless arrival.

Required documents

  • All passengers flying to the United States require a valid passport.
  • Non-Canadian citizens may also require a visa.
  • Citizens of Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries require valid ESTA approval.

In person: Check-in desks are located on the island-side of the airport, in the passenger terminal. Self-service check-in is available at the airport. Kiosks are set up throughout the airline terminal. Please contact your airline for additional information.
